What is a Knight?

Charity:
  • From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. We are men of action.
  • Our charitable activities encompass an almost infinite variety of local, national, and international projects. We partner with Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and our own Coats for Kids projects.

Unity:
  • We pray that Christ's Church may become united in solidarity, oneness, and harmony.
  • We pray that all factions, ideologies, parties, and divisive groups may find peace, understanding, along with God's mercy and grace.
  • We work to bring peace, healing, health, and recovery to all no matter their creed, color, social/economic status, or country of nation origin.

Fraternity:
  • We come together to share in our common bonds, interests, and concerns.
  • We aid one another as brothers will.
  • We build up our communities and those in need.

Patriotism:
  • We believe that religious freedom is a cornerstone of our liberty.
  • We pray God's blessing on those who have served, are serving, and will serve in the defense of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

A personal challenge:

If you would like to join an organization of over 2 million catholic men whose principle work involves helping others in need, we'd like to meet you and invite you to join us. Imagine being part of an organization that fills you heart and mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling of making a difference.

Knights are catholic men, 18 years and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community. It is about enhancing your faith. It is about protecting and enhancing your family life.

Come and see what we are about. Take the first step by talking with one of your local knights today.
